Ohio State Basketball
The Ohio State Buckeyes men’s basketball team in the modern era is one of the best programs when it comes to playing college basketball and has continuously performed at the top levels in the Big Ten Conference. Through the efforts of their veteran coach, Chris Holtmann, and before that, the success of Thad Matta, this college team has made several appearances in the NCAA Tournament, with some teams even qualifying to play in the Final Four. Among the players recruited by this team, many have played at the highest levels of the NBA, like D'Angelo Russell and E.J. Liddell.
The Ohio State Buckeyes men’s basketball team secured the 1960 NCAA University Division Basketball Tournament title due to its players' outstanding performance, mainly because of Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek. Ohio State Buckeyes was coached by Fred Taylor and was distinguished by the combination of size, skill, and unity during that season. They beat the California Golden Bears men’s basketball team in the final game to win the tournament. It is worth noting that they ended up winning all of their games and thus having an undefeated record in the 1960 NCAA tournament.
